Drawing Schedule

Daily 30-Minute Drawing Schedule

0–5 mins → Warm-Up Exercises

  • Draw straight lines, curves, and circles freehand (no ruler).

  • Do light-to-dark shading bars (practice pencil pressure control).

  • Quick doodles of simple shapes (squares, triangles, circles) in different sizes.
📌 Why: Warms up your hand and improves line control — crucial for logo design.

5–15 mins → Skill Building

Rotate between these daily:

  1. Basic Shapes & Perspective

    • Draw cubes, cylinders, spheres from different angles.

  2. Shading & Light

    • Choose one object (cup, pen) and shade it realistically.

  3. Typography Practice

    • Sketch your name or random brand names in different font styles.

  4. Icon & Symbol Sketches

    • Draw minimal icons (star, arrow, leaf, heart, etc.) with clean lines.

15–25 mins → Creative Drawing

  • Pick a word or concept (e.g., coffee, speed, nature, tech).

  • Create 3 quick logo ideas based on it.

  • Focus on simplicity — logos should work in black & white first.

25–30 mins → Review & Idea Bank

  • Pick the best sketch and refine lines.

  • Store it in a dedicated “Logo Idea Bank” notebook section.

  • Add notes: why you liked it, what could be improved.

Weekly Plan

  • Mon–Wed: Focus on skill practice (shapes, shading, typography).

  • Thu–Fri: Focus on creative concept sketching.

  • Sat: Attempt one full logo design start to finish.

  • Sun: Review the week’s work, highlight your best pieces.

Extra Tips

  • Use 2H, HB, and 2B pencils — gives you range for sketching & shading.

  • Keep eraser use minimal — learn to control mistakes with lighter strokes.

  • Look at famous logos daily for inspiration (Apple, Nike, FedEx, Airbnb).

  • After a month, start digitizing your best sketches in a free tool like Canva or Inkscape.
